Hydraulics are extremely efficient systems for controlling high loads with precision. The available systems are: Rig trim. Hydraulic cylinders control the backstay, boom vang and babystay to tune the rig for the prevailing conditions. The control panel is placed in the cockpit for the crew to make adjustments. A mast jack is used to set up the rig, ensuring you always retain the right rig tension, and relieving the load on the rig when you return to port. The Hydraulic Power pack allows you to control all your furling units and winches, and is operated by control switches in the cockpit.
